Control the humidity in your lash room
Posted by Christin Hor on
Controlling your humidity in your lash room is crucial when working with eyelash glue.
First of all, let me explain what humidity is:
Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. If there is a lot of water vapor in the air, the humidity will be high. The higher the humidity, the wetter it feels outside.
If there is a low amount of water vapor in the air, the air is dry and can dry out our airways.
Why is this important to know?
Humidity affects the curing (harden) time of lash adhesive.
Too much humidity, the adhesive cures too quick. Extension doesn't properly bond to the natural lash.
Low Humidity, the adhesive cures too slow. Extension keeps sliding, you have to keep correcting the extension and it slows down your lashing time.
How can you determine the humidity in your room?
You can use a hygrometer
The other important thing you need to know, what the best working condition is for your glue. Our glue PRO S has the best working range between 45% & 70% and a temperature of 20 - 26 degrees.
Keep in mind every glue has a different range, you need to find out what the best working condition is for your glue.
Ok now what? My humidity is too high!
The best way to lower the humidity in your room is by turning on the air conditioner, even better if it has a "dry mode".
If you don't have an air conditioner in your room you can use a dehumidifier. It removes excess water from the air and the water get's collected in a water tank.
My humidity is too low!
You will notice especially in winter that your humidity is too low. If your humidity is too low you can use a humidifier to add moisture to your room.
